Pork Chop
(or you can call him "Chop" if you're in a hurry)
Weekdays. 2p-7p.
Porkchop was born in Gresham, OR in a hospital that no longer exists. And yes, Porkchop is his Christian name. Says so on his birth certificate. Growing up a music fanatic and dropping out of two colleges after majoring in keg stands and couch surfing, Porkchop found radio. Enrolling in the radio program at Mt. Hood Community College, Chop developed a love for broadcasting. From college Porkchop found a gig at Portland rock station 101 KUFO doing weekends and then joined up with Craig “The Dogfaced Boy” to do nights. An involuntary move out of KUFO saw Chop head east to do nights on rocker WDZD in Myrtle Beach, SC for nearly a year before coming back to do afternoons with Dog again at KUFO.
After a number of years on KUFO with Dog, Porkchop was out on the streets slinging lattes in management with Starbucks. An opportunity arose after a couple years away from the mic to come back and have some fun again on KUFO. Porkchop wound up on morning drive as part of The Kidd Chris Show until spring of 2011.
In the summer of 2011 Porkchop made his way back into the radio on sports talker 750 AM The Game in Portland. First as a producer for The Bald Faced Truth with John Canzano then as a host of his own afternoon show. After a number of years in sports radio, Alpha Media invited Chop to leave in April of 2018.
After leaving radio and starting a career in real estate (and I’m around town if you want me to help you buy or sell your house) and art (yeah I also paint…not walls but canvas), Porkchop finds himself back behind the mic on afternoons at The Blitz.
Oh I almost forgot, Porkchop enjoys the color blue, long walks on the beach enjoying a “Taster’s Choice” moment and chicken wings.
